First and foremost I’m a dad to two wonderful kids!

The trophy on the left is from the Seattle International Veterans (40 and over) fencing tournament that I won in 2026. The trophy on the right is for all ages; I won it back-to-back in 2001 and 2002.

I won the blue belt over-30 middle-weight division at the Oregon Open (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) in 2017. I’ve been a brown belt since 2024. Fencing and jiu-jitsu are on opposite ends of the martial arts spectrum but the one thing they have in common is that practitioners spend too much time learning new moves instead of practicing when to use the moves they already know. Quite literally, timing is everything!
